This is a sign on one of the food vans that’s always parked outside of the Field Museum in warm weather. I know that Kim and Carlo have to get extra quarters from the bank every day, in order to have enough to offer them to anybody who asks. But this kind of little gesture can make all of the difference in the quality of someone’s day…

That is the nicest gesture. It can really brighten your day.
Speaking of brightening your day. . . I hope you are planning on doing more traveling for Thanksgiving posts this year. I love how last year's posts showed how you could be prepared to dress for dinner, for hiking, and for triming the tree while still packing light.

I'm confused as to why people would want quarters?
Another topic: I was just thinking, like Anonymous, of looking back at your holiday posts from last year for inspiration. You put together some lovely groupings.

Probably for the parking meters. They cost about $6 an hour.

Yes, the City of Chicago, in its wisdom, has parking meters/boxes that only take quarters. So annoying! But really decent of Kim and Carlo to do this!

They do take cards as well.

Ah yes, I had forgotten about parking meters. Here in SoCal suburbia they don't exist.
