I’m going back through ALL of my old posts, and “re-tagging” them to have the colors of the wardrobes included in the tags.
What does this mean to you? You can find every navy wardrobe. Or green. Or grey. At the bottom of each post, there’s a list of “tags” for that particular post. If you click, for example, on the words business travel, you will be shown all of my posts that I have tagged as being of a style that suits business travel.
This is a long process, and not a precise one. If you have suggestions about how I might label any particular post, PLEASE, let me know.
The whole purpose of this blog is to give you ideas and suggestions. If I can do anything that makes that process easier, I will do it!
love,
V

Where have you been all my life?!!! I love your posts–and now they will be even more helpful to my transformed suitcases and closet. My one suggestion would be be link posts by season (at least by "warm weather" or "cold weather")as well as by color. Thanks so much.

I absolutely love your blog: it is beautiful and fun to look at and educational, all at the same time. Thank you for all the guidance on pairing things and wardrobe curating – I'm getting so many good ideas! This color cross-referencing will be even more helpful. Thanks!

What a great idea. Thanks for doing this.
I agree with another commenter that it would be helpful to know whether a post is for a warm weather wardrobe. It would also be great if you tagged for casual or casual-ish posts (like for spring break wardrobes).
Understandably, most of your wardrobes have a northern-urban orientation. For those of us in warm climates or traveling to them, or living in less dressed-up areas or lifestyles, it would be wonderful to be able to identify the rarer posts for the less-dressy-but-still-polished wardrobes, and for the clothing suitable to heat which you seem to only need to dress for in your "dog days of August".
Thank you for all you do. Yours is The Best Blog Ever.

Awesome! What a kind gesture for all of us. Merci!

It would be great if you would tag your posts that feature your own wardrobe. Mostly these have been your "my wardrobe" posts as you curate toward a simplified wardrobe, but I'm pretty sure there have been others. It's always extra-helpful to see what a well-put-together women is really wearing in real life.

What a great idea. I love your posts, very inspiring and helps me plan more carefully what I buy. I wish I had the budget for some of the shoes and bags. Thanks for your nice comment.

I agree with the one right above–tag your own wardrobe please. It is instructive and inspiring to see how a "regular person" (I assume!) chooses where to spend and where to save.

what a fantastic idea, and labour (of love, I hope). Thanks so much.

I'm so glad that I recently discovered your blog. It is helping me evaluate my current wardrobe and narrow it down to pieces that I actually wear. Your endeavor to re-tag your posts according to color is surely labor-intensive, but will make it much easier for us new subscribers to navigate all the information. Again, I really appreciate all the practical information you bring.

It's hard to say without gushing, how much I appreciate your blog. Not only am I inspired by your daily entries & book suggestions (which I buy), but you remind me to take seriously what I already know. For example, my 1960's working wardrobe could be one of your posts. Eight pieces & accessories that I wish I still had now. Unfortunately, not only has my wardrobe enlarged beyond necessity since then, but so have I.
When I discovered your blog, I went back to the beginning & tried to read every post. Now, I find myself wondering if your thinking has evolved regarding "Vivienne's" approach. If nothing else, I would love an update or summary of the early principles. I know this is not what you were asking about, but it seemed like a good time to make this particular request.
Thanks again for sharing…and inspiring.

What a thoughtful, labour of love. As a librarian, I really appreciate classification – and understand how much work a project like this involves. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much. I just discovered your blog recently and am working my way through your many wonderful archived posts. Is there any chance you have or will consider devoting an entry to summer handbags? I can only afford one quality bag for spring/summer but I have no idea what to choose. Many fail to attract me as they look as if they will date easily due to too much frou-frou or the presence of logos. Others, though attractive and streamlined, are often made materials such as canvas that might not stand up or won't transition well to the fall. If you could post some selections that would be great.

Love you too, my dear! Thank you for all you do. Yes, searchability will be so helpful. I also like how MaiTai's Picturebook has several columns on the right that allow you to click on items in her blog's master categories, perhaps if you have time, that could be cool. Master category examples: "Not so Crazy 8s" (subcategories: navy, brown, grey, black, multicolored, etc), "Travel" (subcats: business, pleasure), "Classic variations" (this is where you do your thing about the key piece like a trench and its possible variations; subcats: trench, navy blazer), etc, etc. Just a thought! Your blog is a marvel and such a resource. Thank you!!!

Vi,
XOXOXOXO's to infinity. I do not remember when I have enjoyed a blog as much as this one. I have spent the past 2 days reading your blog, from the first one you posted. A friend and I were discussing uniforms at work and how much easier life would be if we could figure one out. Well, here it is. You have figured it out for us. I am eternally grateful. I am going to focus on a crazy eight for work using only quality clothing ie Eileen Fisher. I am humbly in your debt. What a generous and gracious lady you are.
Where do I search for past posts??
Karen

There are links on the right side of this page that take you to my previous posts, by date. I'm still researching how to do a batch of links that would be specific to color, season, or degree of dressiness.
Stick with me – I'll figure it out!
big hug,
Vivienne
